I’m at Kennedy Space Center today…

… to see the launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis (STS-129). A friend/co-worker managed to score a causeway pass. The launch is scheduled for 2:28pm EDT with a 70% chance of the weather cooperating. Fingers crossed…
UPDATE: Okay, it was awesome. Not as loud as I had been told to expect, because of the wind direction. But BRIGHT. You couldn’t look directly at it for very long. And today (Tuesday) we drove around Kennedy Space Center (our NASA badges from Johnson Space Center got us in). Visited launch pads 39A and B, the shuttle runway, and walked right up to the crawler that takes the Shuttle to the pad. Major kewlness.

Hope it goes well… wish I were there. Hope you’ll take a good video of it!

No fair. I want to fake moon landings when I grow up too.

Dream big, Phil. Dream big. If you stay in school and do good in math and science, maybe one day you could grow up to fake being the first person to walk on Mars.

Hope springs eternal… Wish I could have been there. I would have even paid someone else. Who knows. 5 more chances if I remember correctly.
